Gorkha International Public Secondary School was founded in 1998 by a group of Gorkhas (Lahures) and was inaugurated by the Vice-chancellor of Kathmandu University, Professor Dr. Suresh Raj Sharma on the 14th of chaitra, 2055 (28th of March 1999). Having felt the need to establish a real good institution that could facilitate qualitative learning, a team of dynamic Gorkhas form the Rapti Zone.
